I'm Jonathan Bourne, a landscaper & horticulturist from Newport, Rhode Island, and I'm thrilled to share my story with you.
In this blog, you'll find tales of greenery past and future, sunshine, and the occasional thorn in my side. But don't worry, I promise to keep it light and entertaining!
I've been running Bourne Green Horticulture since 2010, which makes me a bit of an old-timer in this game. I've seen it all, from perfectly manicured lawns to gardens that look like a jungle. But no matter what the challenge, I'm always ready to take it on with a smile on my face (and a trusty shovel in my hand).
So how did I become a landscaper who’s interested in writing blogs? I studied English and horticulture at the University of Rhode Island. I have a degree in both poetry and plants! This unique combination has given me a great sense of creativity and understanding of your plantings needs.
Of course, being a landscaper isn't all sunshine and rainbows (although there is a lot of sunshine, and the occasional sunburn). There are days when the weeds seem to be multiplying faster than rabbits, and the lawnmower just won't start. But that's exactly why I'm starting this blog. It's a place where I can share my garden frustrations, celebrate the wins, and share my love of plants with all of you.
To make a long story short, if you happen to be in Newport and see someone smiling while pulling weeds and cleaning gardens, that's probably me or someone on the Bourne Green team. Also, if you you feel like your property isn't getting the care it deserves, you know who to call! I'm always ready to take on a new challenge and make your outdoor space shine.
